Software Developer at Coditas
A Firm believer in ‘Life is short, Do some crazy things’ and a Maroon 5 buff, Pratik joined Coditas as an intern. In less than 2 years he is already interviewing candidates. Read on to explore his voyage.
We started our conversation with computers and Pratik with a spark in his eyes said, “I have always loved computers. I was constantly hung up in doing things on my PC.” Recalling his childhood Pratik told us, “In school I was a sincere kid, but I became very mischievous on completing the 10th grade. I wanted to be a software developer but I hated Mathematics. So in junior college I opted for Biology instead. But on completing the 12th grade, I realized you cannot go for engineering if you don’t hold Maths as your core subject! But my love for computers made me take up BCA. On completing it, I went on and studied MCA too.”
Big deal about building code?
“We as coders have the ability to create a great impact on society”.
To explain his statement, Pratik reminded us that we are having this interview online due to the lockdown situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Further he said, “Now imagine if there were no computers and internet. You and I would be jobless. Computers have allowed us to work from the comfort of our homes. All this was made possible by great coders.”
Journey at Coditas
“I joined Coditas as an intern in July 2018. While I was in my final year of post-graduation. I applied at Coditas, got interviewed and was asked to join the very next day. I was super excited. I loved the office setup, it’s so fresh and bright.
I was also amazed by the fact that Mitul, our CEO and Priti, our COO interacted with me so often. Even though I was an intern, I was invariably treated as a full-time employee. I was a part of the client calls and was assigned responsibilities that are usually not bestowed upon interns. Gaurav has been my manager since the beginning. He always pushed me to ‘go and get things’. He believed in me even when I did not believe in myself. Good work is always appreciated in Coditas irrespective of your designation.”
Like most freshers, Pratik initially aspired to join the big MNCs. But today he is more than happy to have joined a startup. He believes what MNCs do in six months, startups with their fast pace can do it in one. He says, “You get to play multiple roles in a startup.”
On asking how has the Coditas experience changed him, Pratik promptly replies, “Thanks to the management who threw me in the water early on, today I am no more scared of swimming.”
Pratik loves being notorious. He is famous, or rather infamous in his team for barging on unattended computers and sending out party invitation messages.
Since he never stops learning and accepts challenges with good spirit, Pratik sits on the other side of the table in a very short span of time.
He went on from being an intern, to a software developer dealing in frontend technologies, to an interviewer who adds good talent to his team. Today, Pratik is no less than an inspiration to all the young talent at Coditas!
